With 2x lumber installed, it’s ~15.5”

There’s a little slop in the side slots, but at least 15.5” to the tailgate

I use two of the 6" deep "under the sleeping bed totes". They work really well reaching in and sliding in and out. When pushed all the way to front of bed you can get two 40 packs of Costco water between them and tailgate.
