Introducing my Razor Crest, an Alto Blue Lariat Hybrid with Lux Package, spray-in cargo liner, roll-up Tonneau cover, wheel locks, and all-weather floor liners. Satin fender flares, side molding, mud flaps, black platinum tailgate lettering, tailgate assist, and DIY bed items added after purchase. This is not the vehicle I ordered on 7/3/21 even though it has pretty much the exact same build. Sadly, my personal order is still not scheduled. This is a dealer ordered Maverick placed 7/9/21, that went into production 9/9/21 and was Released from the body company 10/28/21. Yes, this Maverick that sat at the plant until it was released for transit 12/4/21, the day it came into my Colorado inventory search and the day I placed my $500 deposit for the purchase. I picked it up on 2/4/22, since then, I added my accessories but also had it in the shop to service a “Charging System Service Soon” warning that popped up on 2/7/22 this took 3-days to fix. I apologize for not posting some of this information during the timeframe above, but I did not want to jinx what was happening.

I tell you all this not with any level of regret but to provide my personal insight into the Ford ordering process. Most importantly, I have come to realize the Dealerships are Ford’s customers and we, the little guy, are not. The proof for this is the fact 3 other very similar Alto Blue Hybrid Mavericks showed up in my Colorado inventory search on 12/4/21. These three Mavericks were also dealer orders, two of these Mavericks are now dealer “mannequins” or dealer showroom trucks. The final of these three Mavericks had a $5,000 markup which seemingly someone paid --- UGH!!! I got mine for MRSP but was forced to buy glass etching and a key fob protection plan for $650 total.

Aside from the $#!++Y experience with Ford’s ordering process, I love my Maverick and my experience with Loveland Ford was great. I call my Maverick Razor Crest as I use the crazy, audio screen cubby to house Grogu (Baby Yoda). The compact design is what I love the most as it is a foot shorter and 8 inches narrower than my old 2011 Honda Ridgeline allowing it to fit more comfortably in our 2-car garage. The adaptive cruise control is cool in that it allows you setup a smaller gap between you and the vehicle in front of you than I have seen in other vehicles. Adaptive Cruise is also great for slowing you down and stopping when traffic ahead of you does the same. This proved invaluable and potentially lifesaving as I hit a fog bank where vehicles were coming to a hard stop during one of my drives and as advertised Razor Crest came to a hard slowdown and helped avoid being another one of those Mavericks we have seen before.

I am getting use to other features on Razor Crest… The adjustable driver side headrest threw me for a loop until I realized if you make an uncomfortable adjustment, you must bring the headrest fully forward before you can re-adjust it, it does not just push back. The ride is great and it seems very confident on snow and ice, although I won’t put it to any stunts. The lumbar support and the B&O sound system is great. The accessories I purchased took about 8 hours to install, but mostly due to my lack of expertise; I am happy with how they enhance Razor Crest’s look and style.

In your garage, you would swear it was black. Outdoors it looks like a very , very dark blue.

Looks great! Is that bed divider accessory or did you DIY it? I put a shower curtain rod for a divider in mine but that may not work so well. I’m also thinking about the tailgate assist since everybody has spoken favorably about it.
