I ordered a '23 xlt ecoboost fwd, black appearance package. Then I changed the order to awd. Then I changed it again to fx4. Did not get an updated printout from the dealer. Do not believe I ordered the trailer hitch option

1) what do you think I will get? Fx4 or BAP? Since I now hear I cannot get both.

2) can I add a trailer hitch after getting the truck or is there a fundamental incompatibility since it wasn't on the build.

hitch is part of the FX4 package, I don't see them making a case where this one gets it this one doesn't. On Ford's website you're able to build an FX4 with BAP, I haven't seen anything stating otherwise

You should be able to change anything except engine and major packages. So no changing to hybrid (which you can't with fx 4 anyway) no changing from xl to lariat. I am not sure if you can add/delete lux pack. If you order shadow black with fx4 you are most of the way to the black appearance package anyway. If you really care you can probably do most of the rest aftermarket.

It says that on the information popup on the build website as well. You have to dig a bit to see it. The build site lets you select both which is dumb.

If you changed to FX4, you probably have FX4. But it's crazy to assume and no way we know. Get with your dealer to review your build.

As stated FX4 gets a hitch anyway. It was stated hitches were priority for packages so you should be fine. Personally you are way better off with FX4 than BAP. As was stated with the black wheels, it wouldn't be a huge deal to get the rest of the BAP items blacked out after market. Hardest left would be seats, but a good cover can get you there. FX4 adds mechanical improvements, skid plate, tires, instrument cluster upgrade. I'd take that over black colored bits any day.

You can certainly add a hitch yourself, but for the price having them do it at the factory is a no-brainer. You probably can't do it for less money with after-market.

Yeah, I need to go over there and get an updated report.

When the dealer goes to key the FX4 package, the BAP will show as a conflict. The store should have advised that you would lose the BAP and give you an updated print out. Contact the store and request a copy of the updated order.
