Radio Excruciating Blast non provoked

I wanted to touch base with other Mav owners regarding the Sync system in our Mavericks. I have a Lariat Luxury which comes with the optional sound system. The other day, I started the car and a loud, excruciating continuous sound came from the radio. Almost sounded like an alarm. It was so loud my ears were ringing for the rest of the day. I shut the radio off but the blast continued until I shut the car down. After restarting the vehicle, the display on the radio seemed to be working fine but no volume for radio, phone or nav. Car sat overnight, started the next day and everything was working fine again.

I was curious if any other owners have experienced the same or similar problem. I'm hoping it was just some type of glitch and won't happen again. Thanks

no issues with mine. obviously some kind of hardware issue your dealer will have to get corrected is my guess

Had the same problem today, vas very painful, got an earache from it, radio didn't work but after restarting truck it was working, hope it doesn't happen again. Going to report it to dealer but don't expect results unless it happens to them

About a month and a half ago I was pulling up to a stop sign. Nobody else around me. I heard this god-awful noise. I thought I hit something. I looked around, put the truck in park got out and I didn't see anything. I didn't know if it was the radio or the engine.
