I’m having to replace my instrument cluster on my 22 Lariat Hybrid. I know a new one has to be flashed through Forscan so the mileage is corrected. Does anybody know if the cluster can be installed and it work just by plugging it in? I wondered if the settings currently in the module that feeds it the data would allow it to function and then flash the system afterwards for the correct mileage? Does anybody know of any current guides that provide the steps to do this in Forscan?

I replaced the instrument cluster in an Audi, and the first thing I had to do was "Address" the instrument cluster with the car's VIN so that it could communicate with the other modules and be accepted by the immobilizer.

XLT to Lariat Cluster https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...r-with-a-lariat-cluster-and-1-question.53308/
Replace existing with same sounds like write down mileage, plug in new, adjust odometer.
Is it necessary to disconnect the battery before pulling and replacing cluster? Last time I pulled it to check the connections when it came on it had a check engine light but then when I cycled it again that went away. Also are you changing the mileage in the IPC module itself or through the wrench icon as I have seen on another video?

I'd disconnect the battery when removing the cluster.
Step that's not mentioned in link is to save original IPC AsBuilt so that it can be loaded into the replacement cluster.
Odometer Write looks to be in Gear Wrench, with truck key to On, not accessory mode.

Thanks - Sounds like the safe bet to me too. Tonight I used Forscan and made a backup of all the modules. The truck kept exiting the ignition on mode and I had to turn it back on several times.

Stupid question. When you said truck key on instead of accessory on, did you mean to actually start the truck?

Not start, but 2 clicks of key or 2 start button presses w/o gas brake pedal. KOEO "Key On Engine Off"
Some modules like the BCM won't write to in Accessory, 1 click of key.

Perfect! That explains why the system was timing out and having me restart with one click. I assume in the KOEO mode the system won’t time out then.

It hasn't for me.
Several Modules get +12V when Run/Start Relay is energized.
That ensures all the modules are active on the CAN BUS.

ABS

Thank you for all your info! Random question. Where can I see the current mileage in Forscan before I change out the cluster? Also is there a way that Forscan reports reassignment of the TPS when a tire rotation is done?

TPS - don't know as I haven't done it.

Vehicle > Configuration
I think various modules have the mileage in kilometers
