Questions about Tailgate Applique

How is it installed, 3m tape, glue, ect?

Anyone have one on a Carbon Gray willing to share photos?

The letters that I got (raised plastic letters) used pre-applied tape with the red backing. Not sure which brand. Pretty sure it was a 3M knock-off since there weren't 3M logos all over the red backing.

Not sure what the flat vinal letters use, but most of the install videos that I've seen advise wetting the surface down with soapy water to let them slide a bit for final placement. They'll stick once the water dries.

I can show you a picture of mine, but I'm not Carbon Gray.

Saw that but wasn't 100% sure due to seeing how the cab spoiler is mounted.

Same. The hood scoop calls for extra adhesive like the cab spoiler. I wish I had a do over on my cab spoiler. Taping down the 3m tape after exposing the corners is critical!

It’s applied with 3 M tape.
It will hold on forever with that stuff.

I was considering one until I saw one on a Ford accessory representatives Mav.

It looked pretty good.

I passed on ordering one due to the fact that it is textured like the stock bed rails. It had collected a lot of dust and dirt despite the fact that the truck looked pretty clean overall.
Tailgates collect dirty anyway, having a textured surface makes it worse.
I like the looks of them, just don’t like that aspect of them.

Oh, and it will collect water and drip a lot after washing your truck since they’re hollow underneath. (If that matters to you)
