Hey, for any of you folks who have installed any sort of lift kit by yourself or have any knowledge about this. I'd assume this would be mostly applicable compared to any model except the Tremor, since this is the front end where it's sorta the same.
I installed the HRG 1.5" lift kit for my fwd hybrid for funsies.
I was lowered, but the roads where I live are just too harsh for me, unfortunately and I gave up on running them. So, since I was going to swap back the regular springs, I figured I'd just go further out the other way. But I had the absolute worst time installing the struts with spacers up front, and I'm just not sure if I was missing something or what. I could not get the front strut to line up with the hub and I was probably close to an inch off in distance. I ended up using spring compressors while the strut was mounted up top to get things lined up, but that took a lot of extra time, and I'm just curious if other people experienced something similar, or if there are any tips or tricks that I might have missed.
I'm kinda just dreading it if I ever need to replace the CV axle (I probably should have just bought the bullet and installed the upgraded ones while I was in there, but hindsight 20/20 and all that), or whenever I need to replace the struts from regular wear, and figured I'd see if there were any tips or facepalms I can keep in mind for next time.
