Hello all, I am considering adding an aux battery to the bed inside a camper shell so it charges while I drive. Instead of running a lead all the way from the engine bay, I am contemplating utilizing the 12v pigtail in the flexbed. Any reason the following would not work?

12v flexbed > Victron dc-dc 15A isolated charger > Aux battery

So I did discover the Orion XS has a programmable input current setting. Maybe one of these, set at 15A max input current, and a negative bus bar off the pigtail ?

https://www.victronenergy.com/media.../operation,-configuration-and-monitoring.html

Input current: Limits the maximum current drawn from the input source. This is particularly important to avoid overloading an alternator or other weak input sources.

The value can be adjusted between 1A and 50A in 0.1A increments.
