Price protection transfer question

Sorry if this is on an earlier thread. Sept. 2022 ordered cactus gray XLT hybrid lux 360. July 2023 was rolled into 2024 order. Stopped by my local dealer couple of days ago and there is the very truck I ordered, only was ordered by someone else. The person who ordered it decided not to take it. My salesman said he’d check into whether price protection would apply and they could sell me the one now sitting in front of their store, thus I wouldn’t have to wait any longer. Ford said no, price protection is specific to the person and VIN number. Has anyone else run into this? TIA.

And yes, I bought a used 2023 in Oct. 2023, but prefer the heated cloth seats, and the 360.

That's correct. The Private Offer is tied to your name and order number. It is not transferable to another order or dealer stock.

My son and I both ordered Lariat Hybrids at the same time. After waiting a year and a half my son had to do something else…he couldn’t wait any longer. His truck came in about a month before mine was scheduled for delivery. I was able to buy his and still get my private offer. Might not have been kosher after reading this thread, but I’ve had it since December and am loving it.
