Regarding margins (Which is in the article) and not the article's headline (Which has next to no chance of influencing Maverick production):

The stuff they're putting into Mavericks cannot be converted for use in high-priced F-150s. One could actually make the argument that's why the Maverick has many of the components it does, from the shared chassis parts to the last generation radio systems - A useful outlet for manufacturing capacity that would otherwise just evaporate.

If there was a conflict and Ford could only build high-margin F-150s or Mavericks, I have no doubt the F-150s would win. But I doubt this is happening.

Ford could choose to build specific optioned eb to get faster easier sales. The real point is we are salivating to pay msrp, when 1 year ago no one would even consider that. I've bought cars as much as 20% below msrp. But I suppose most saved at least 5-10%. Now I'm not even blinking at msrp. You tell me

Ford could choose to build specific optioned eb to get faster easier sales.

But they aren't. You can go look at the Thursday emails to see that Ford is not only building a lot of different stuff across many trims, but when there is a production constraint its usually something that would increase profit, not reduce it. They're even building and scheduling cheap hybrids they can't deliver yet.
