Have a software company and any software product is hard to document. We have 4 full time operator manual writers, and you can find pretty much anything in our manuals in 10-15 seconds. Well over 4,000 pages of manuals. Our software has what is called a "graphical user interface", and our operator's manuals includes this same graphical user interface. BTW, you never let a programmer touch the manuals. With a PDF search feature, you should be able to find just about anything without a lot of effort...The Maverick manual can take up two full pages to explain how to turn on or off the parking brake assisted button, when a simple graphic would save half a page of text. If someone wants to put their lip to a battery charger cable, they'll learn and don't need for a manual to explain it to them. Federal regulations on noise levels could be somewhere, but not in an operator's manual.

My staff puts in "blind searches"...like "Oil change for a Hybrid", "oil change mileage", "parking brake button", etc, etc. these words don't show up in the manual but if your search for them the search will take you to the appropriate page, etc...Be damned if I can hardly ever find anything in the Ford Maverick Manual. When I finally find what I'm looking for half the time it's about the EcoBoost not my Hybrid. Combining the various models of the Maverick all in one manual adds to the difficulty and burden to read thru page after page to find what you're looking for.

So much junk about federal laws, or noise level laws, etc, etc in the manual that are so distractive and waste of time when looking for operating instructions. Put frivolous legal mumbo jumbo in the text of the OPERATOR'S MANUAL is so distracting. Some buttons on the center console are not labeled or are a graphical image that does not give you a clue as to what it is for. That same graphical image may not be in the manual either...Example is the Mode button....it took me half an hour to find where and what a mode button was. Try searching for "Eco Mode', "Sport Mode", etc...the majority of the time you want find what you are looking for. When I cannot find something in the manual I go "Google", google the question and always find what I'm looking for.

My only real complaint about the Maverick is "I Hate the manual".
