This probably isn’t new. Haven’t been monitoring forum for a couple months now. Thought I’d post just in case it’d be helpful to some…

Got a call Thursday from my dealer letting me know my truck is finally being built. I thought it was a curious phone call since I had not received an email from Ford.

Turns out my truck is NOT being built; rather, it has finally been scheduled to be built. It’s scheduled to be built 5/30. I didn’t get a notification from Ford because of their brilliant new customer relations model - the No-Communication-Is-Good-Communication-(for Us) model. Anyway, the dealers are definitely notified about scheduled builds. Therefore, since Ford has decided not to update customers until the build actually begins, I strongly recommend pestering your dealer and Ford Customer Service line for your scheduled build date and VIN. I got my VIN by calling Ford Customer Service this morning.

Just wanted to share for those still waiting for some sort of update. And, to those who ordered in August or earlier still without a build date, I’m sorry. It really sucks. I’d like to tell you to hang in there, but I didn’t.

Yay, I finally have a build date. Boo, that I had to get another vehicle because Ford took 10 months just to schedule my build and 11 months to actually (maybe) start building the truck… and no less than 12 months to deliver the truck. Yes, had to; turbo was going out. Really sucked at the time. Had to offload to still get a decent amount for it, but needed a car to drive. Love the vehicle I chose - probably a bit more than the Mav.

On a related note, I will have a carbonized gray first edition for sale by owner sometime around August for about $5k over purchase price (MSRP + tax/tag/title). (Yeah, likely to be in the low $40s). Won’t have but a few miles on it.
