Passenger door re-assembly

What’s the trick to getting the door handle/lock mechanism to stay on the door panel when putting it back in place after speaker upgrade?

it keeps popping out when I try to put the panel back on the door. Frustrating. I didn’t have an issue with the driver door.

Ahh I think I figured it out. I had to hold the inner door handle open to keep it held in place and that seems to work. Whew!
