I need the part numbers for the left and right trim pieces that attach to the inside of the door. Pictures attached. The upper clip on both of them no longer stay attached to the door.

The part numbers on the inside are showing obsolete.

Thank you in advance.

When I was doing my audio install, I had a few of these fasteners come apart where I knew I knew it wouldn't all snap back together properly.

Try this, it may fix it in 5 minutes. Remove the black plastic cup/sleeve from over the metal clip. Remove all the soft rubber out from around the clip with a needle nose pliers. If the clip isn't still fastened to the plastic tab, it's easier. Regardless, get as much of that soft black rubber off/out as you can. With the clip mounted on the plastic tab, attempt to put the whole plastic panel back in place on the door by pressing the panel's clip into the door's metal slot. My bet is that it will snap into place and grip.

Here was my specific situation which was slightly different, but this may help others since it fixed a similar problem I had with those clips as well.

My metal clip wouldn't stay on the plastic tab. Removal of the panel had caused the metal clip to come off the plastic tab and stay in the door's metal slot, and the plastic tab was pulled out of it and had chunks missing. Trying to press them back together just didn't hold due to the missing plastic.

I removed the black plastic cup from over the metal clip and tore all the soft rubber out from around the clip with a needle nose pliers. Then I pressed the metal clip onto the panel's plastic tab, but moved it over sideways (laterally) on the tab a bit. It allowed the barbs on the metal clip to bite into fresh plastic on the tab and grip it.

Removing the plastic cup from over the metal clip makes the whole clip assembly less wide. So the clip, now attached to the tab in a slightly different position, is now able to fit into the metal slot on the door because the clip assembly is less wide. I know it's hard to envision some of this based on this text explanation but if you have the parts in your hands and follow along what I've written, you might be able to get it all to snap together and grip without having to buy a new panel or resort to double-sided foam tape or something like that.

They are referred to as door sail panel by ford.
Clips package was like $12 ,panel s about 25$.
Just use trim tool next time to pull rubber part out with panel , hard to tell first time though!

Bought 2 new metal clips that attach to the door. The top panel trim piece still will not attach. Tried to tape the top post, no luck holding. . Will probably have to buy 2 new trim panels. Cost about $85.00.

I never thought this would happen. It will also happen if a Ford tech does the removal.
