I just don't understand this. My order was placed on October 11 and I still don't have a build date. And I know people that ordered in June without build dates. Just makes no sense.
Check out utube videos from Long McArthur Ford. Tim Bartz internet sales MGR does a great job of explaining Fords rational in the build process. It deals with Dealer Allocations, part constraint issues, late availability etc. Very informative and many videos updated weekly.

Yes, I've seen all those. Just think it's all BS. A custom order should be treated as such. Take care of current orders before pushing new orders ahead of them. I've seen my exact build ordered after mine and produced before mine.

FYI, when I ordered my Mav (Dec 21), I had an email before I left the dealership.

Think of how all those people who ordered a first edition feel.

FIFO would ensure just about everyone's maverick would be delayed, and we'd all be paying more.

So I had been looking at the Maverick for a few weeks, casually, and decided to pull the trigger last Tuesday as I was tied up on Monday. I then find out that the prices went up on that very day...*sigh*. That said, it wasn't much in the big scheme of things and the total was still $30k less than the other option I was contemplating ordering (another Ram 1500), so I'm not too concerned. All that said, can anyone "in the know" help me understand/forecast when I might be able to expect to actually receive my truck? Heck, I'd be happy with just an approximate month. Thus far, I've not even received an order confirmation email from Ford - I am assuming the email would come from Ford, not the dealer, right?

If it helps, I ordered a Cactus Gray 2.0 EcoBoost AWD Lariat Lux w/FX4, 4k towing, moon roof, bedmat, protective film, and keyless entry.

Thanks fellas/gals,

-Matt

I ordered mine on Tuesday as well and got the email from Ford a few minutes later after getting off the phone with the sales rep. She also said 3-6 months on the build but generally they have been getting them in 12 weeks and just put a wide range so people dont get pissed when it doesnt show up on week 12. if you havent received the email, then they didnt order it yet, or its in your junk or spam.

Mine is AWD Ecoboost, FX4, 360 and drop in bed liner.
Is your Maverick a hybrid Brusepda?

If I see an exact same build as mine get produced ordered after mine blows that argument out of the water.

No, it's an XLT AWD Ecoboost without the FX4 and 360.

How do you figure? I'd say it proves that Ford thinks FIFO is less efficient. They want to make the cars as fast and cost effective as they can. If it would have been more efficient and cheaper to produce, ship, and sell your Maverick first, they would have done that. If they produce your Maverick first at greater cost and less efficiency, then that delays the whole process and increases everyone's cost.

It's all done with computers. They know what materials they have on hand to produce a given number of trucks. Matching those materials to all trucks to be built isn't that hard to fathom. Factor in the dates in which those trucks were ordered shouldn't be that hard to schedule. That doesn't cost more to produce or make it less efficient.

Where this gets all mucked up is the allotment issue. Which custom orders should not be subjected. So because someone orders from a large dealership they take precedence over someone ordering in their own home town. That's the part that is BS.

Can't say I'm happy to hear that, but I *am* happy to hear that yours is now built and that you will be receiving it soon. Kudos to you for sticking it out. Well, my birthday is in June, so maybe I'll get it in time for that :)

if they don’t have a part needed for a build they are not going to shut down production until it arrives. They move on to the next order that they do have parts for.

And where did I ever say they should?
