Do you think I would get a better deal and get a maverick faster by just buying a dealer stock vs ordering one now?

1) Better deal? No. Get it faster? perhaps/perhaps not. I think there will be some at dealers before factory orders, but not sure if they will be able to be sold right away. If they are (able to be sold), they will go for a premium.
2) What dealer stock? (Hint: There is none as of yet.)

I assume they mean the dealer stock we're all expecting to start showing up for sale on dealer lots in mid September. I didn't see OP say anything about buying stock right now.

With the Maverick being so new there is no way you are going to get a better deal. My guess is they will squeeze the customer as hard as they can.

IMO. Ordering a Mav now is like talking about area 51. People don't know what exactly is in it, but it is somewhere. A Mav in my dealer's stock is like a little green man. People talk about it, and no one gets it. At least for the incoming half a year.

Horne Ford in Apache Jct assures me that dealer orders do not jump the waiting line ahead of real Ford customers (for what it is worth)

Plus any dealer stock that might be available would be an Eco boost only Hybrids are still only able to be ordered by customers direct
