Not waiting on Airbag Light recalls. What do need to do?

The climate control dash is relatively simple to remove (use a plastic tool!)

Is all I need to do is make sure everything is seated correctly on this panel? Seems simple as hell and way simpler than dealing with a recall. Maybe I'm just over simplifying this ...

Sounds like the plug or the wires may come out too easily - like when bouncing around.
They have no idea what you may drive on, but apparently have seen them pop out with a batch of whatever piece they changed after a certain date.

Or maybe they discovered the machine plugging those in was calibrated wrong and often enough was incomplete, then it could shake loose.
Probably not the latter - or they wouldn't be waiting on parts.

As to what to do - you have the truck, do nothing until they are ready to apply a fix and count your recall as done.
Pop off piece for them when you drop it off, make it quicker.

Ford's intent is to add additional retaining clips for the airbag indicator.

I fully imagine that, no matter how minor and easy to fix under the shade of a tree, recalls are not self-service items. If you ever have any intention of selling your car or truck, you'll need a dealer service to log that the recall was properly completed so that future buyers will see that in the vehicle history report.

Since this problem is insignificant to most everyone, just one to wait around on.
