How old is the android? My wife's Galaxy S3 would not work on her 2015 CRV, so she had to get a new phone.

Her phone is an older model. Maybe a new updated phone will be the answer. thanks

Swappa sells dirt cheap iPhone SE's Gen 2 mint for around a hundred bucks out the door. Gen 2's will run iOS 17 so you will get the Apple Maps download feature. I'm partially a Luddite but even I had to move out of the flip phone scene.

the phone needs to be QI enabled. QI functionality gives the phone the ability to charge using the wireless charging deck. As stated, most iPhones have this built in. The upper end Androids also have this. Many of the "free" phones do not. For those you must use the usb charging ports.

And for what it’s worth, I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Using the wireless charger is spotty at best. I finally found a case that keeps it flat against the charging pad so it now stays connected but the charger heats up my iPhone to the point it shuts the charging off in order to cool down. This is not unique to Ford either. Honda charging pads are the same way. I don’t think the wireless charging capability in vehicles has evolved to be really good yet.
