Agreed. It doesn’t accumulate ahead of the tonneau, BUT it also doesn’t leave water in the bed, driving or parked outside. It works just as it’s designed – drain tubes that lead to ports in the side of the bed. I’ve never had water leak in from the front or sides of the tonneau cover, even in torrential rain. I’ve placed tailgate seal along the bottom and both sides of the tailgate opening. That prevents all but minor moisture, which does appear at times through the top, where the tailgate meets the tonneau, usually at the carwash (manual wash). I’ve considered adding the same seal to the back bottom edge of the tonneau, but figure that would raise it enough to break the side seal. Maybe if I shave it thinner, or if I lay inside the bed with everything closed up I could place the full seal butted against the tailgate, but why give my wife a chance to lock me in there for a spell…

Thanks for the pics. I did install seals at the tailgate and that helped a bunch. I'm thinking maybe the seal that came with the Rough Country, which was a semi-dense foam, is the culprit and is wicking the water instead of sealing it. I'm going to order a edm seal to replace it. I do notice also your cover rails seem deeper which could also allow wateer to get to the hose instead of spilling over.

I purchased a BAKFlip MX4 Hard Folding Tri Fold for my new Lariat. I also purchased extra weather stripping to lay on the side rails of the truck and possibly double up on the front. I also have a tailgate seal kit like the one I used on my F-150 that helped a lot. Same as what RivrMav has shown above. I leave two small gaps on the bottom of the tailgate seal so water can drain IF there is any water that does get in.

I was supposed to be installing my cover at this very moment this afternoon after I was supposed to have taken delivery. Ford has a Stop Sale on Mavericks for the software update, and their system will not let a dealer deliver a vehicle until the repair is completed. Update was completed yesterday in their shop, but their warranty manager did not file the claim until this morning. Ford's warranty system has to cycle overnight before the vehicle is cleared to sell. Good grief.
I have the cover, Husky floor liners, hood deflector, bed mat, tailgate cover, and a RubiGrid dash mount for my Garmin & phone layed out on on the garage floor. Now I will have to kill time until Monday thinking of what else I want for it. Maybe stabilizers???? 😊
