My daughter and I ordered our Mavericks on Jan 27, 2022. You might recall that was the last day to order 2022s before Ford cut off orders. We both ordered XLTs with the FX4 pkg. Hers in orange mine in white. We did not order the tow pkg or spray in bed-liner. The only option I added was the tray style floor liners. She didn't add anything else. The first notification said we would receive them the week of 11/7/22. In the end they were delivered to the dealership on 11/28 and we picked them up on 11/30.
Between the time I ordered the truck and it came in I moved from Florida to Missouri. So my first trip in the truck was about 1100 miles. I drive a lot for work and I usually drive either a BMW 440I or my wife's F150 Powerboost. Having never driven a Maverick until mine showed up I was actually kind of dreading the trip in what I thought would be an under powered stiff riding little truck. I was pleasantly surprised. Now is it as powerful or as comfortable as the two aforementioned vehicles? - No. But it was not so much of a difference that I really noticed it. The 2.0 EB hummed right along at 75 - 80 easily and averaged about 28 mpgs for the trip. I am a little picky about seats and have traded-in a Subaru and a Prius because they were just too uncomfortable for me. Now seats can be dependent on body type and just personal preference so to each his own, but at 5'7, 175lbs, 48 yrs old and a host of old sports injuries I found the Maverick's seats to be very comfortable.
When it comes to speed and handling this little truck does not disappoint. I drove an Ecosport rental car for work for a day and felt like I was taking my life in my hands driving that little road hazard. The Maverick does not feel like that - not even close. In fact in normal driving around town and cruising down the highway it really isn't much of an adjustment from my BMW. I really enjoy driving it.
I do wish I would have ordered the 4K tow package and whatever package needed to add the push button ignition and Intelligent door access. I went fairly simple with my order because we have the F150, but I don't like taking my keys out of my pocket anymore - thought I could handle it but I am just too spoiled I guess. Since I've had it I've added an aftermarket bed-liner, tinted the front windows, and used my Ford Pass Rewards to add a soft roll up bed cover. Soon I will add the gas struts for the tailgate and hood. I also bought some sill protectors and raised letters for the tailgate. When it comes time to buy tires I just might add a little lift, and some bigger tires. If I am feeling real ambitious I just might, and its a big maybe, add some wider wheels and some fender flares. My hesitation in changing the wheels is that I really like the way it rides now. I hope my experience helps. If you have any questions shoot em my way.
