I went into the medical field in the late 90’s and every last bit of it had already been converted to metric.

Something about patient safety and mixing units.

Like when a medication dose is supposed to be 1.2 mg per kg of body weight, but the patients body weight is listed in lbs, but the person drawing up the dose thinks it is kg, then the patient gets a dose that is 2.2x higher than is was supposed to be.
