Hello all, I just picked up my 2024 XLT hybrid in Terrain. I traded a Chevy Silverado and I couldn't be happier. My commute is 42 miles each way, and I average 45 mpg. It took only two months from order to pickup. My brother in law took 22 months to get his last year, so I consider myself lucky.

I do have one question, though. In the last couple of weeks, I have noticed that Android Auto is acting funny with respect to calls. I can use voice to make the call, but it only picks up through the phone itself. The same with incoming calls. When I try to see if the phone is connected via Bluetooth, the button is grayed out. There was a thread on here that said to clear the cache and reconnect, and it worked for a day. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a solution? I can still make hands-free texts, it is just phone calls. Thanks.

Never had the problem. My phone completely syncs with the Maverick as soon as I get in. If I get a text message, it shows up on the screen and I can tap it and google reads the message and asks me if I want to respond. If I say "yes", it asks, "What's the message?" I then say my response, it then repeats what I said and asks, "Are you ready to send it?" I say "yes" and the message is sent.

With phone calls, it comes through the head unit, I can either pick up the call by touching the screen or the steering wheel. If I want to make a call, I say "Hey google" and it responds with a written message asking how it can assist. I tell it to call my wife and it does. I can tell it to text my wife and it does it.

I would check the version on your truck to see if it is the latest. Sometimes the head unit doesn't get installed the lastest software update.

Yes, I had a random issue with CarPlay and Bluetooth. When I connect my first incoming call the caller couldn’t hear me. If I hung up and call back it’s fine until the next day. When I upgraded my phone the problem followed, but the issue went away after an update. It was very frustrating for a year.

Congratulations Tom! Feel free to send us a private message with your VIN and current mileage. Allow me to see what I can do to assist. Thanks!

As has been suggested, make sure your Infotainment system has the latest software. If not:
  • Install any available infotainment update(s).
  • Turn the truck off & back on.
  • Remove your paired phone from the AA list.
  • Remove your paired phone from bluetooth list.
  • Make sure your phone is running the latest AA version.
  • Remove the truck from the phone's bluetooth paired devices.
  • Delete app cache & app date, then reboot the phone.
  • Plug the phone back into the truck's USB-C & run AA & Bluetooth setup again, making sure you grant Phone call permissions for the truck.
