New Guy From Germany - Autobahn Edition! ***UPDATE DECEMBER 2025***

Greetings Maverinos or Maverickans or whatever it is you call yourselves!!

I'm stationed overseas, Stuttgart, Germany to be exact and currently driving a 2014 Nissan Frontier XC with a VK56 Titan Swap. She sings on the autobahn but between her and my C8, I just don't have a vehicle that can carry more that two people at a time.

Until about 3 weeks ago, I was dead set on ordering a 24 Ranger. While talking to my nephew when we were out in Moab, he suggested that I take a look at the Maverick. I'd never seen one, pretty sure they're not sold here in europe and only recently have even seen but 1 or 2 on base locally. Well needless to say, the Maverick seems to tick all the boxes that I need so I've been getting after it. I drove a few just before heading back over this way and began my search in earnest.

A few days ago, I found what I think is a pretty sweet little truck, a 23 Cyber Orange Lariat with only 4k miles. Hoping the deal goes through here in a few days.

In the meantime, my list of go-fast parts are as follows:
Fast Mavericks 409 Down Pipe
Thermal R&D Cat Back
S&B Intake
GFB DVI+
Panda Tune
CVF Intercooler(Not yet Installed)
Velossa Snorkels (Not yet Installed)
Steeda Front Strut Bar
Good WIn Racing Rear Sway Bar

Looking for suggestions on brake pads and rotor upgrades. I'll eventually get a new set of wheels and tires but the stockers should do me through the summer.

Thanks for reaching out. The truck is still a month or more away from being here unfortunately...paperwork and shipping times....patience is a virtue I've had to learn since living overseas.

By the way, if you ever run across someone serving in the military with an APO, AE or APO, AP address, you just need to use USPS, it's basically like shipping to New York or Chicago. Letters and paperwork are exactly the same, products may require a customs label but it never truly leaves the US postal system. Hope that helps!

Greetings once again! After almost 6 months of waiting, the truck is finally here. And so far, so good!!! I've shipped three vehicles over this way and decided this time that I would travel up north and pick it up at the port.

That was an easy and painless experience so after filling up at the Esso I was on the Autobahn heading south and seeing what she could do.

Well, she can do 110mph.... Interestingly, you can set the cruise control to 110mph and it will hold there as long as traffic conditions allow. I think my C8 has a lower cruise control limit than it's max speed but i rarely use CC in that car.

Just a quick recap...I purchased the truck in April and began buying parts for it while all the paperwork got sorted out. My buddy kept the truck and parts then loaded it all up for me and my dear old Mom flew out to Colorado and drove the truck over to Houston for me.. Not surprisingly, she got way better gas mileage than me....Averaging almost 31 MPG over 1042 miles.

My best mileage on my trip home was 28.2 MPG with my overall trip coming in at 27.2 MPG. Admittedly I was having a bit of fun at the end there playing around with sport mode and what not.

Mileage over the first 500 miles in my possession came in at 27 MPG on the dot and has been holding there since then on my last few days of commuting. Interestingly, although I haven't take a photo of it, the Trip 2 screen was set when the truck had only 15 miles and the lifetime MPG is around 20.2 MPG... I'll probably reset that one and leave Trip 1 as the new baseline from my time of possession.

Not sure if you guys are like me or not but I think it's pretty neat when the odometer lines up with interesting numbers... Here are two that caught my eye.....

The aforementioned Pile-o-Parts has been unloaded and stacked....patiently waiting to be installed over the next few months.
Here's a quick list of those parts:
Cold Air Intake, down pipe, full exhaust, intercooler, Panda works Tune, big brake kit, rear sway bar, front stiffener, engine cover, fog lights, bed liner and a few more odds and ends.
That should keep me busy for a while!!

First Mod is complete!! Had the front PPF'd and the roof wrapped in gloss black. I think it looks fantastic!. One small detail he added was adding a strip of matte black over the front of the bed rail, really ties it together instead of having that bright strip of orange in between the cab and tonneau cover. You can see this in the third photo.

Started working on the performance mods this weekend...Autobahn Edition, stage 1 is complete....Mostly. Still waiting on the Diode Dynamics parts.

Since I have to pull the bumper for the fogs and intercooler, I fIgured I'd wait to install the Velossa snorkels at that that time as well.

The S&B was actually a bit easier that I thought it would be. The connection at the turbo was the only really fiddly part of it and that wasn't bad at all. Need to find something to put in place of that Lincoln symbol. And I think I'll get some touch-up and color in the STEEDA logo.

The GFB DVI+ was very simple of course. Even though it doesn't vent to atmosphere, you can still hear it working or at least I think you can. I notice a bit more boost sound that before.

Rear Sway bar wasn't too bad. We dropped the drive shaft and had to modify the passenger side heat shield due to the gussets used on the Progressive mounts.

I watched both to S&B and the RealTrucks install videos. My truck is missing the parts that connect to that plug and the two studs in the 2nd picture. I'm guessing that's an evap part for california trucks but I have no idea.... I installed the plug that S&B included and so far there are no codes.

I finally decided to have the Downpipe and Cat back installed this past week.
Had it done by a local mechanic who's done work on my hellcat and c8 plus he works at a fancy garage and knows what he's doing.

I've Just had the following installed:
Fast Maverick downpipe with high flow cat straight midpipe
Thermal R&D 3" cat back exhaust
(S&B intake and GFB DVI+ are already installed and still need to install the CVF intercooler and Velossa snorkels)

Believe me, I watched every youtube video I could find on exhausts before deciding on the thermal exhaust because I didn't want a ricer sound but it's bad... Anytime you're on the gas, it's horrible, I'll get some sound clips uploaded in the next week or so.

I've just ordered a 3" resonator, hoping that will help like it did on my Titan swapped frontier....Fingers crossed.

Just in case the resonator doesn't help, I ordered some 3 to 2.5 reducers so we can put the stock exhaust back in.

Any suggestions on a quieter 3" muffler???

My mechanic had a HELL of a time getting the factory downpipe out...something about these lariats, they seem to have some extra heat shielding or something that doesn't appear to be on some of the other models.

He was not able to reinstall the 02 sensor on the cat because of the proximity to the tunnel.

My truck has been tuned Panda prior to this and I guess to be fair he was still working his way into the power but it was pretty soft, softer than the tune that comes with the Cobb tuner.

Anyway, I reached back out to him for an update tune this week but he claims he can't tune it with that O2 sensor not installed so I just ordered a 90degree O2 adapter/bung to try and see if that will allow the O2 sensor to go back in....
