Hey all - just picked up my hybrid XLT last week. It’s been great so far.

The screen navigation takes some getting used to, especially things like changing the music sources and controlling the heat and fan, but I’m getting the hang of it.

Curious to know what type of fuel does everyone use in their hybrid. The manual states 87 is fine but 91 or over is preferred.

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to MTC. Congratulations on your new Maverick. I don't have the hybrid but I agree with Dave O

Besides that is and was the selling point of the Ford hybrid being able to use or utilize 87 octane.

Hope you keep enjoying your new truck.

This. ☝

For the Hybrid, the manual does not suggest nor recommend using anything over 87 octane. And it will not improve performance in the Hybrid. It, however, does recommend using TopTier gas, which is available at many stations and is in all grades of gasoline sold at TopTier stations.

Good looking truck! I like the black exterior with the XLT rims, they go well together.

For the Hybrid, you don't need to use anything over 87 octane, really. The cost savings from the increased mileage on higher octane fuel is eaten up by the increased cost at the pump.
