Heh, triggering me  they were tryna teach me Pascal on a VAX in 1992, claimed the vax cluster was near enough eternal and in use "everywhere" in 1993 profs had Pentium 60s on their desks and were saying it was better than having the vax all to yourself, in 1994 I dropped back in for some paperwork and the VAX were gone and I never saw one again. Thanks dudes, and for insisting I learn Lotus 123 and WP as "industry standard" 3 years into Word/Excel takeoff.
Yea...🤔 You triggering me into remembering that I had a class in Pascal. I worked on it at home on my 286 PC with Turbo-Pascal. I then had to upload it to the VAX. I then had to debug my Turbo-Pascal as it was a different Pascal version on the VAX. :surprised:

I retired from IT after 30 years. I never programed in Pascal but I did learn to program Cisco & Juniper routers.

That is the wildest take I have ever heard, but damned if I don't admire it. As a professional computer boy (my username is actually a reference to the programming language c++) I don't trust a computer as far as I can throw it. I keep a handgun next to my printer as a threat to the thing in case it gets ideas.

That said, if I had to go back to mapquest printouts instead of android auto I would be heartbroken.
Is it sad I still do the back of the envelope written directions based on the Google route?
Just brief stuff - I70 E - I71 N - I72 E - US30 E ect.
Used to only print the Mapquest destination area zoomed in, wrote the same notes on that paper.
Just in case phone dies or signal drops. Because I don't trust computer not dying at worst times.
Probably also sad I put trip receipts in that envelope.

Important update! Even with the glass etching, the buttons fell off. I wish there was a clip on button overlay like some cars have. Get on that, mabett or maxina!

you could try getting a plastic screen protector then crazy gluing them to that, then applying that, even if just cut into a strip for the bottom.

clarity edit: I was assuming you were using a hard one, was meaning more of of the cheaper ones that tend a bit blurry to use on whole screen.

I use 3M abrasive tape as my “buttons”. AC, fan+, fan-….all by feel. I can use them with my eyes closed:)

I’ve become accustomed to the touchscreen & no longer need no stinking’ buttons!
