Finally a "new" owner! Received my XL after 49 weeks, ordered 17th of July 2023. Shipped May 30 2024 and arrived in NC June 21.

Black, Hybrid and now 150 miles on July 7, after picking it up on June 25.
Electronic mileage indicates 41 mpg to date.

I really like the truck. I'm 6'3" and it fits fine. Ford Drop in bed liner installed at dealer and I have added the additional tie down points. Mud flaps installed now. Hard trifold bed cover ordered as is the hood bug deflector.

Congratulations on your great looking XL!

I waited 298 days for my XL hybrid. I think Ford hates building XL hybrids. It’s one of the best bang for the buck buys in the USA automotive economy market.

I’ve had my XL for a year now and it has been great. The gas mileage just keeps getting better. I drive like an old man but now the dashboard says I’m at 50 MPG. My manual calculations say closer to 49.

Mine has been very useful, Home Depot runs, yard waste disposal, bicycle hauling, and soon hazardous waste transport. That last one will be a decade’s worth or used engine oil dropped off at the county recycle station.

I had plans to replace the steelies but they have grown on me. Now I see them as unpretentious wheels for an unpretentious hard working little truck.

I think you might be wrong. Ford would love to build as many hybrid Mavericks as possible since it helps with their CAFE rating. They would prefer to build XLT and Lariat models. Yet, every hybrid they can manufacture is a good thing for Ford.

The forecasts underestimated the demand for the XL Hybrid.

However, I anticipate they will return to a very low-spec version with the 2025 Model Year. They will probably keep the price the same for a version with fewer features and package options.

I also expect Ford to keep the Lariat configuration options similar to what they did for 2024. Reducing the number of potential configurations has many advantages. By allowing folks the most option choices, the XLT will become the Swiss army knife of the range.

That takes some patience! I must say the XL in black looks good even with steel wheels. I have a 2024 on order in black. What treatments if any will you use on the paint?

I’ve been thinking about painting the steel wheels black. But rather than go all black I think I have decided to keep the center covers silver, and maybe add a trim ring. There’s other chrome accents on the truck. I think that may be better than all black wheels.

I am going to put some smoke transparent covers over the blue Ford emblem ❗

Congratulations DWV.
If it's any consolation to you and A Sturdy Beast, I waited 620 days to take delivery of my Lariat Hybrid. That's 4 days less than both of you combined o_O.
I have been driving mine 9 months and 1 day and had 8500 miles exactly yesterday evening. I love it.
DWV - may you travel many smile inducing miles in your Maverick.
A Sturdy Beast - continued hard working, unpretentious, enjoyable miles to you.

620 days is a crazy long wait. In your shoes, I think I might have cracked and bought something else. Or more likely, ordered a second Maverick and then start bird dogging dealers for an abandoned Maverick order at anything close to MSRP.

Random luck is a factor but I wonder if your wait was mainly due to dealer allocation.

@A Sturdy Beast I ordered from Granger when they were offering their $3k off MSRP.
Ford changed their allocation calculations in between model years, so while Granger had allocations, I had to wait my turn. There were only three 2022 orderers waiting to receive their Mavericks after mine was built.
Between the $3k off MRSP and my private offer for rolling over from a 2022 to a 2023, I paid over $7500 less than sticker for my truck. At times the wait was frustrating, but I found it worth it in the end.

My Shadow Black XLT EB AWD had the Black Appearance Package. Here is an idea of what your truck might look like with black wheels (for your reference).

Those BAP wheels are now mounted on my wife's 2024 Atlas Blue XL Hybrid Maverick since I purchased aftermarket 17-inch wheels when I could not find decent all-terrain tires for the BAP 18-inch wheels.

I like the steel wheels and would have left them on my wife's Maverick if I didn't already have the 18-inch BAP wheels.

Love my 23 black XL Eco. Had it for 15 months and still get a kick out of driving it. Replaced the rims but kept the tires. The rims cost me 725.00 out the door at Discount Tire.

@Godzilla amazing improvement with those wheels. Did you also get some tinting? What options did you get in the XL? I required the active X seats which forced me up to the lariat trim.

Yes I had the windows tinted to match. Local shop charged $100. The only option I got in my xl was CP 360. Cruise came with it standard in 23 model. Power mirrors came with the CP 360. I wanted to pay cash for mine since I’m retired and $20,000 was easier than $35000 to come up with. I suppose I have a couple thousand in wheels and other mods.

I think you have the best-looking XL I've seen so far.

Are you using a wax on the paint and if so what kind?
