I wanted a backrack / headache rack but the options are few and far between. I bought the maverick specific backrack and hated how it looked since it was too tall it stuck up above the roofline, not to mention the company lazily leaves their old squared one size does not fit all brake light cut out on every rack and it would have completely blocked the cargo lights.
Cut, welded, hastily spray painted the welds for a test fit. I’m very happy with the fitment now. I forgot to take pics with the stock backrack so I’ll steal one from another thread for comparison.

CUSTOM FABRICATION
I have a fabrication shop with a 4’x8’ plasma CNC, milling machines welders etc to build whatever with access to a powder coater. I can make more of these , other Backrack designs, or other custom designs as well. If anyone is interested in something custom message me. It would probably be easier and definitely cheaper to build these from scratch and not how I did this first rack.

hated the backrack then, looked awkward, your version looks much better.

Since you are a fabricator I’ll ask your opinion. Do you think there will be enough room on the top rail of the bed with a hard trifold cover to mount a fabricated pipe rack? Truth be told, I think I will have to wait until it is front of me to see. Obviously I will have to custom build one. Thanks for any feedback.

Agreed nice job OP!

Realtruck….
Did y’all by chance take notes and redesign the back rack for the maverick to not be as tall and not block the cargo lights?!😃

I agree that this is the perfect height and fit for the Maverick. I don't know of any design updates that are in the works, but when if any changes are announced, this group will be the first to hear about it!
