Molded splash guards in snow country slush buildup?

I'm debating getting the molded splash guards, but concerned about slush/ice buildup in them. Anyone have the Ford ones installed and driven in alot of snow yet? They look like with the molded area facing the tire they would build up alot of slush and ice quickly which may snap them off when the wheel catches it.

Good so far. I self installed the Ford ones
