I ordered my Maverick in July 2021 and a few months later I found an eBay Auction for a brand new Maverick Owner'a Manual, WITH the Black Cloth Cover. I went ahead and bought it to learn about my Truck before I received it.
I never thought it would take as long as it did for my order to come through but on September 23 2022 it was delivered.
The manual that came in my truck was just the manual, no cloth cover, wrapped in plastic.
The manual in my Truck now has the Black Cover on it from the one I bought in September 2021..

Mine only came with the shrink-wrapped manuals inside a paper Ford envelope. No sort of folio. I think it's just a cost savings (read: profit) measure on Ford's part.
It didn't bother me much since I've never had to look at a manual more than a handful of times.
