Maxzina Side Marker Lights Review!

I just put mine in my 23 XL Hybrid.

Had my wife check all the functions of the truck lights and the side marker lights. It was daylight and I had the headlights in the default auto setting, meaning the day time running lights should be on.

I started the truck and learned that the running lights are not on until I shifted into drive. Then they came on and the side marker came on full white, which they also do when the headlights are on.

I was not expecting the side marker lights to be on all white with the running lights on.

Is that how yours work?

No, mine only come on when the auto lights detect night and the headlights turn on.
And of course the lights Flash Amber when I signal, unlock the doors or four ways flash.
Maybe you wired it wrong?

I don't think I wired it wrong, although anything is possible.

No worries.
If you wired it correctly turn off your lights or put them on auto and let me know if they're still on during daylight time.
I know you have them in day time running but humour me.
Otherwise I'd return them cuz you probably have a defective device.

Test went:

I got in and started the truck. Left in Park, no DRL or side marker. Put into Drive and DRL come on as well as all white side marker.

Left in drive and:

Turned headlight switch off, no headlights or side lights.

Turned headlight switch to parking lights, parking lights on, no side lights.

Turned headlight switch to headlights, headlights on side marker on all white.

Have a message into the Maxinna rep here and will see what he says.

That is how mine work as well and from my understanding is how they are meant to work - solid white as side markers, amber with turn signal activated.

he light being white as a side marker is a valid concern since only amber side marker lights are legal in some states. I'm in a state where white is legal but I'm still thinking about tinting the white portions amber, though I haven't really looked into the best way to do that yet.

How are they wired into the original wiring harness? I ordered some yesterday and am a bit concerned about how they tie in.

Mine has connectors / splitters that plug into the turn signals and headlights. It was all plug and play, there weren't any exposed wires to solder or tape up.

That's how they're supposed to work. When the headlights turn on so so the side lights. When they're off or running daytime, the marker lights are off.

I got confirmation from Maxinna that when driving in the daylight, and the DRL are on, the side markers are also on full white.

Mine has no terminal ends and I really dont want to cut into the wiring harness. Who is your made by?

In case anyone is worried / interested, I only had to unplug the small single wire plug with the rubber grommet in order to disable the always on white side markers. The amber turn signal and lock / unlock lighting still works. I'm going to experiment a little more to see if I can get the amber LEDs to be on constant instead of the white but not sure when I'll get around to that, so for now just not having the white works for me.

Mine is from Xipoqix and from what I can tell the wiring looks pretty much the same as the one's Maxzina have in their listing (as well as a few other no-name listings). There are a number of different companies selling basically the same lights, though I did notice some of them don't have connectors / wiring harnesses with them, just the bare wires. Which one's did you get? What does the wiring look like?
