Are there pieces missing? It says it seals the area around the door hinges, but there aren't any hinges on that side of the door. This is also outside of both inner and outer seals at the rear of the rear door.

I agree I have no idea what the purpose of this product is. Looks like a solution in search of a problem.

Just my impressions and opinion had a set from another seller - couldn't justify the money spent for what they were. looking at the pics ... While trying to fill that outer to inner area the design didn't extend to the top leaving a couple inch gap which really drew the eye there, which for me made this look like , as others said , a solution looking for a problem. They were returned. May you have better results

Yeah.The main purpose is for aesthetics. The gap in the rear is relatively large, and this product was developed to cover the gap.

I rec'd my Rear Door Edge guards from Amazon today. It never ceases to amaze me how people with have a really nice product and then pack it as cheaply as possible to make a few pennies more! These were stacked together in a long box and then shipped to me within another box, NICE! BUT a simple thing as putting one of them in a plastic bag, no matter how thin would have prevented the damage to the one on the bottom. The top one wedged against the red tape and worked itself under the mounting tape, removing the adhesive tape and reforming it, from the piece in at least 3 locations on the short side for a total of about 14 inches that will NOT restick to that piece. I am not going to risk it releasing from the Maverick and will return and RE_ORDER. Please respond and tell me if there are plans to redo the packaging process before I re-order. I am sure I can't be the only order this has happened to. Thankyou and pack as well as you design! I'm not sure how well this shows up on the pictures.

You will only see them when the door is open and frankly I don't spend much time looking at that area when I am putting something in the back seat. Notice they do not show what it looks like from the outside with the door closed.
