Max Gas Mileage Tire for Mavericks

Any ideas what tire would give the max gas mileage on a Maverick? I heard the Michelin Defender 2 is a candidate.

I tried to get defender 2’s
Only three left at the warehouse. Seems production has ended because the
Defender 3 is on the way.

I purchased Pirelli Scorpion AS plus 3’s in the factory tire size, they are plenty wide enough to give me superior handling.
They are super quiet, even on the crack seals.

I had to increase tire pressure to 38 psi for even tread pressure. I used the chalk method across the treads. So far my tire depth gage says I got the TP correct.
They are super quiet and wonderful in heavy rain.
No real weight increase, mpg’s are great.
I doubt I’ll ever consider a Michelin again.

I can’t, I got this info from Ford when they tried to order me a set of defender 2’s.
The 2’s that are still available are showing up with only older date codes. I don’t ever want that.

She said she could still get them but it might take several days to scrounge up a set.

The big tire houses likely still have stock.
But I’d not want a tire that’s about to be upgraded.
