Hello! Me and my wife are getting ready to buy our first Maverick through a dealer.

Specs are Maverick XL Hybrid Cactus gray + towing package + Ford 360 + Keyless Entry.

Ford dealership says it will arrive in 2 months. What is a realistic expectation for delivery? We have to sell our current car so timing is important.

If you have the tracking information you'll get a better idea of timing. Could be worth getting a quote from carvana or carmax and seeing if ford would offer more on trade in to beat their quotes.

That's pretty much impossible to answer, too many variables. everything might perk along perfectly and then your truck might be stranded for a month at the rail terminal awaiting a carrier to the dealer.

To be honest any number of hiccups along the way are possible. You need to prepare for that, sorry.

Caravan and Carmax quotes are inly good for about a week. I recommend you wait until the dealer has it on the lot.

I had a 2016 CMax. The dealer had me come in a couple of days before delivery to give me a quote. The dealer offered $6500. Carmax offered $7500. Carvana offered $9000. Dealer wouldn’t match.

Advantages for trading at the dealer-

• Sales tax is computed on the net (new-trade) in Connecticut
• Drive one car I. And one care out
• Transfer plates

Carvana was an easy process to schedule pickup and they had the check in hand. They charged $400 for the pickup. The alternative was to drive 200 miles each way to drop at their location.

Do not sell your current vehicle unless you have alternate transportation. There's no way to tell when actual delivery will be. And if your dealer tells you otherwise, they are blowing smoke.

Mine sat in a rail yard for 3 weeks until ground transportation to the dealership was scheduled. Total time from day shipped until delivery was over a month.

Are you sure it has towing package? Trailer hitch alone is not tow package. I don't think you can get tow package on XL Hybrid, only hitch.

You’re right, it isn’t called a tow package on the Ford order page. It’s a “Trailer Hitch Receiver with 4-Pin Connector.”

But other sites, like Kelly Blue Book, list the 2K hitch receiver as “Tow Package”, and separately, the “4K Tow package”. While technically incorrect, I don’t think that OP is wrong to call it a tow package. Although honestly, considering the 4.5’ bed, and the mere $100 cost, Ford should have just made the 2K hitch receiver standard equipment.

Did you have your dealer check on getting what you want from another dealer? My dealer has four Ford dealerships of their own, plus often finds the desired vehicle within 100-125 miles from other dealers. Usually a vehicle trade is made i.e. An edge for a Maverick, etc.. They send a dealer driver(s) to make the exchange. BTW at the end of May my dealer said new builds were 6 weeks to 4 months out. Often the hold up is at the border for legal(illegal) reasons.
