If one were moving person items/clothes, would Ford Maverick have more total cargo space than a Toy RAV?

I've done this comparison with an Outback which was another vehicle we were interested in, and which has more cargo space than a Rav. Mav can come out ahead:

If you assume the rear seats of the Rav or Outback are laid flat and compare that to the Mav bed + rear cargo/seat area - it is very comparable. However, if you assume you can stack items in your Mav bed and exceed the side rail height, the Mav carries more.

Similarly, if you have a cap on your Mav bed and fully load it - that should carry what a Rav with the seats down would - plus the Mav still has the rear seat area for people or cargo.

I couldn't find any exact cargo capacity numbers that are direct comparisons - so you need to manually add them up if you want to see for yourself.

Apples to oranges.

Most crossover/SUV's are going to have more internal space even if it's only an inch in any direction. Even my Escape had more internal space including in the rear seat/leg room. One thing it didn't have was under seat storage or a bed.

If you don't need the bed, get a Crossover or an SUV. That's really what it boils down to.

Thanks for your post....I have decided to use the Maverick for this job. 😁
