Test drove a fusion hybrid before ordering my Maverick. Very close as my memory recalls. Maverick had stronger/ newish electric motors and smaller high voltage battery. Got 41 on mostly highway trip to dealership this morning for the fire engine recall work. That is the lowest for real trips and not the mile to the stores and back

Excellent information. All things I wondered about. Very informative. It does seem like a previous post, that the Maverick is supposed to replace the Fusion and C-Max hybrid is pretty accurate. I have been a little bit turned off by the infotainment system in the Mav. The first thing that got my attention was that there was no SiriusXM on anything but the Lariat. I ordered an XLT because of the allocation numbers, mostly. I know I can upgrade after the fact, but still, not as nice as having it already done and SiriusXM is pretty much standard on every other car out today. I'll have to see about the brakes in the Mav. I have gotten really used to the Fusion braking over the past 9 years. Thanks for the excellent write up!
Well, I use Spotify or Audible on my phone now and haven't touched SiriusXM in years. I even forgot that I had the free trial with the Maverick until I received a notification that my free trial was over!

As for the braking, it's only very low speed braking that has the issue and not constantly, and as I've grown used to it, I can usually avoid the problem. It's weird but a minor annoyance now.

Re: Technically … above, before I bought my used C-max, I bought a used Escape. I loved this vehicle and its boxy look. What I did not like was 16-18 mpg and only 200+ miles on a tank of gas. I always liked the Escape Hybrid. Finally the transmission on my Escape gave out and the car wasn’t worth much more than a rebuilt transmission.

That’s when I bought a C-max for the hybrid and gas mileage. I didn’t realize I was technically buying the replacement for the Escape Hybrid. Good to now know this. Thanks, Jsus.

I have never regretted buying the C-max. Now, due to possibly a 1 yr wait for my Mav in the configuration I want, I may get a C-max Energy (PHEV) in the meantime.
I will be replacing a 2006 Mercury Mariner (ford escape)V6 FWD with the Maverick Hybrid, I currently also own a 2013 C-Max Energi as well, averaging 60MPG over 90k miles on the c-max, about 20mpg on the Mariner.

Re the 20 mpg difference above, is that ~40 mpg on a new Mav minus ~20 mpg on the retired/traded Mariner? (I never got close to 20 mpg on my used V6 Escape; more likely 16 mpg average. That was the only thing that I did not like about the boxy little SUV.)

Yea, in the city I barely got 18mpg, have gotten 23mpg at 80 when I went from SW Missouri to New Orleans with 4 adults, but the vehicle is now tired, currently getting 24mpg with about 3 miles city and 18 miles hwy/backroads.
