Hello, everyone! I could use some advice please. My 23 Maverick has now been built. (ordered Sept 2023) Of course, I hate the wheels but needed that price point. I am wanting to look at getting some after market rims but have never done this before. A few questions and please tell me where you got yours if so! What size exactly should I order for a base model( I would really like to not buy new tires if thats possible)? Will I have to purchase new wheels do I/ did you put them on? What did you pay and where did you go for them? Does this affect safety and mileage in any way? Any other advice for a new timer would be appreciated! Thank you to all!

Hello,

Lots of good choices and info on this site for sure.

For photos of wheels and tires combo, under the TECH section, then scroll down to Wheels/Tires/Brakes section. There's an ongoing listing of pics/reviews with new wheels and tires.

That helped me a lot to decide what style I wanted on my Cactus Gray XL Hybrid.

If you are getting the XL, you will have the same "Steelie" wheels (17" is the wheel size) and basic Continental Procontact TX tires (size is 225/65/17).

Here is a link in there to my truck photos and review.

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...-tire-sizes-on-2022-maverick.7592/post-551891

For more 3rd party reviews, Tirerack.com (which is owned by Discount Tire I think), also has a consumer ratings chart for tires. That was also very helpful for me.
You can type your vehicle in their website and it will show which wheels and tires will fit; even has a neat preview feature to "see" it on your truck.

I ordered my new wheels and Tires with new TPMS sensors (to make sure new sensors would fit and no issue with stock ones from Ford) from Tirerack.com and I had Discount Tire install them.
Easy process.

Hope that helps.

Sure.

I paid $1,656 at tire rack.com

$190 per tire

https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tires....er=17&cameFrom=selectSize&partnum=265HR7WPATT

$156 per wheel

https://m.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...&wheelModel=Type+Y&wheelFinish=Matte+Titanium

$27 per TPMS sensor

Free shipping, free lug nuts, free install at Discount Tire.

I could have saved even more if I had ordered directly from Discount Tire in person or over the phone.

Discount Tire price matches with a valid link.
Amazon has the same tires for $148 each.

https://www.amazon.com/Falken-WILDPEAK-Terrain-Radial-Tire-225/dp/B07WTQG25H

And I could have got another 5% Military discount.

But, I wanted to try the service from Tirerack where they can mount and balance the tires (with the TPMS sensors installed) BEFORE they ship it.

It turned out great, but I could have saved even more with the price match and discount directly at Discount Tire.

No regrets, I love the final product.

You can see your vehicle simulator with your color on different websites like one of the sponsors here is discount tire (they also own tire rack) and pretty much most of the selections for 17 inch rims/wheels work with your tires.

Thank You for the shout out, and thank you for your patronage!

You are correct. Tire Rack does fall under the Discount Tire umbrella.

If you have any questions about pricing, availability, or fitment, please feel free to chime in! We are here to help.

Thank you for the post.

There are definitely wheels available that will allow you to utilize your current tires, and I can help walk you through sizing choices.

We can keep the truck looking stock our "go big"" as they say. Its up to you.

If there is a specific wheel package you are interested in? I will do my best to assist you.

Yes Please! I would like to keep it stock size so I can keep the tires. The truck will be for my son but I am on a budget so Ford wheels are way off for me.

You could also look for other people replacing their Maverick or Bronco Sport wheels and selling the factory wheels or tire/wheel combo. Besides that, other Ford models, Volvo's, Jaguar, etc have 5x108 wheel lug patterns (that will fit the Maverick) just be aware that the back spacing on some wheels may be different than the 37.5 Maverick wheel. Lots of Posts on this Forum about wheel/tire combos. Best of Luck!
