2025 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid AWD with about 770 KM on it. At about 700 KM the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) lit up on my dashboard in white, but did not appear in my FordPass app. Several alerts have occurred since then (alarm triggered), so I know my app is working and is connected to my truck.

Considering how new the vehicle is (still in engine break in so I've been taking it easy on RPMs and consistent high speeds), should I be concerned? What have others experienced? Can anyone help instil confidence that the FordPass app can be trusted for critical errors going forward? Or is this MIL indicator a potential blip?

I have a service appointment scheduled for tomorrow morning, so I will share updates from Ford...

If it is white it is not the MIL. It is part of the Power Guage. It is settable in the menu and must gave been triggered accidentally.

Thanks for saving me a trip to the dealership! You are right, it is visible only when the power gauge is enabled in the settings.

NP. It's been a common misconception lately according to the threads I've seen.

Always a good habit if you don't - every start after a tank fillup, go to key On and pause and look at all the lighted symbols and confirm they work.
For push-button start leave foot off brake to accomplish.

Would be bad to have a light out on a system trying to warn you of something, and most of them only light on errors, unless there is a problem with the actual light.

I ran across this post while doing a search. My Maverick had the MIL pop up just like krytox when I displayed the power gauge. It does not display otherwise. I'm not too mechanically inclined so I am confused by the responses. Is the symbol bad? Is something wrong with the truck if it only displays when the power gauge is showing? Should I take to the dealer?
No other errors or alarms have occurred. Nor did anything show on my FordPass app.
I have 517 miles on the truck and just filled up the tank for the first time.

Thanks, MavStangVa (cool user name). I did read post #2. However, I guess I wasn't convinced the symbol wasn't the same one for the MIL symbol. It seems like Ford should have used a symbol that did not resemble another one. Of course, there are so many symbols they probably ran out! I looked at the manual and did see the power gauge symbol as post #2 put in there post. This morning when I took the truck off the power gauge setting there wasn't the MIL/power gauge symbol, so looks like all is good to go.
