Has anyone else with an XLT tried installing this? I think it looks great and don’t necessarily need the lights to work, but it would be nice if they did since they’re suppose to. I’m currently trying to get some clarity from the seller and a Mabett rep on this forum but so far their solutions have not yet got the lights working. I’ve tried several spare fuse locations, ones they’ve recommended and a few I looked up in the Maverick owners manual.
Should I assume the lights are defective? I was going to try to test to make sure power was actually getting to the lights, but I’m not quite sure how to do that with a fuse tap. With everything installed already I only have access to the grounding terminal in the hood and the fuse tap in the passenger fuse panel.
I’m fairly handy so I’m open to suggestions on how to rewire this, just hesitant doing so without confirmation from someone more knowledgeable about the wiring in this truck.
My initial solution, which seems logical to me, would be to remove the fuse tap altogether and rewire the harness to the side marker lights.
Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Try grounding it where there is no paint first. Then if that doesn't work you could just hold 1 side of the fuse to the positive battery terminal

I started to wonder if the paint where it’s grounded could be the problem, someone else told me it shouldn’t matter - thanks for recommending though cause now I’ll commit to checking that again. The unfortunate part is the ground wire is only about 8in long so I’ll have to extend it to reach elsewhere. Thanks!

Mine worked through the paint. You can always just try to find anything near that's bare metal. I wouldn't make anything nice or permanent until you know for sure

Turns out power and ground are not the issues. Confirmed both before hooking things up and still no power to the lights. I suspect it’s the lights themselves, or the wiring near the lights that I no longer have access to since it’s already installed on my hood.
Considering this lesson learned to not install anything electronic without first testing that it functions correctly 😅
