Tomorrow I have access to my grandson-in-law’s garage auto lift. I thought I would use the opportunity to mount my Mabett fender flares and mud flaps and get started on my project of mounting a pair of 3” LED pods under the rear bumper.. Rather than tying the lights into the reverse taillight circuit, I will be wiring them to a switch and power port panel I have mounted on the cubby door. I will also splice a remote control unit into the light circuit. That will give me the option of controlling the lights while standing next to the open tailgate or remotely from the cabin.

I know my question has been addressed previously, but I can’t find the right search parameters to find the answer. QUESTION: When mounting the fender flares and mud flaps together, which should go on first?

Thanks. That’s what I’m doing as I write. I have one more to go. So far, only one misaligned hole.

I actually went the other way. The mud flaps were overlayed on top of the flares. I’m not sure it would make a difference. One thing I did different this time was to carefully regard the location for each mounting pin as I removed it and assure I returned each from where it came. Because they are all not the same, I think I caused myself some unnecessary problems on my previous Maverick when I allowed them to be mixed up. This is the second Maverick I have had mounting both the flares and mud flaps. They still look great to me.

The heat got to me and I quit after installing the flares and mud flaps. The rear work lights will have to wait for another day. If it is the flares and mud flaps you want to see, I’ll post some photo later today.
