That’s why maybe I thought this was in the luxury package. It’s not uncommon these days in vehicles. Again it was so long ago I just wanted someone to confirm the earlier packages did/didn’t have it. I think it’s just the convenience of not only the push button but the keyless entry and not having to take a key out of your pocket.The car won't turn itself off if the fob battery dies, not sure where you got that bad data. That would be a liability nightmare.
I have a push to start in my Edge and my wife's Altima. Won't ever buy another vehicle without it. It's funny how Ford pushes this to higher trims when so many other makers have it even on the lower tier vehicles. Same for ACC.
