I'm looking for a little better pedal feel , is anyone aware of and stainless braided brake lines for the Mav? I gotta do brakes soon anyway, so I might as well.
I like your thinking. Don't let the naysayers talk you out of it. It's your Maverick. Do what makes you happy. I myself put Eb c yellow stuffed brake pads on and they feel awesome. Initial Pedal touch isn't oversensitive though any further pedal pressure Is very responsive. Totally happy with the pads conversion as the Maverick only has 2 piston calipers vs a 4 piston caliper, so that's the best we're going to do without doing a full rotor and Pad set up that EBC may offer or upgrading to 19" wheels for my Tremor then installing Focus ST or RS spindles and Brembo Brake Calipers, Rotors and Pads. The EBC Yellow Stuff pads are good enough for now.

Yeah not gonna happen. Wife's maverick will soon get braided lines. Ebc pads. Pagid dot 4. Good fluid for Lamborghini and Porsche. Got to be good for little maverick going up and down a mountain.

I like your thinking. I'm presently working on a 2.3 stroker using a 2.0L T/S Block capable of over five hundred horsepower. Everybody tells me I can't do all this stuff. Well I'm doing it. And I don't care what they said, they'll probably ask next, what's that do to your gas mileage? I'm just gonna say wrong channel, buddy. 😆

Look forward to reading all of your posts. Love performance upgrades. Definitely not the gas milage prius guy. My wife loved the turbo maverick when the neighbors got one. She got the cayenne pepper awd. She prefers it over her escalade in weather even though it has great awd.

Yeah, love that Chili pepper paint job. my wife likes driving the Maverick too. She has a Black Expedition Timberline with 33 K02’s and it drives great but something about the little truck’s attitude makes us smile.

We think alike . Love the expedition with the eco boost. But she like the escalade because it was a little bigger. She likes the heads up display. But damn you pay alot more cause it's a caddie. Tried to get her to get a suburban but no.

The guys who are naysaying the braided brake lines have either had a unique bad experience, or are talking out of their asses, or both. Pay no mind.

The impact the braided lines *can* have is not placebo. On the motorcycles I put them on, where the bulk of your brake effort is only your right-hand fingers, it made a HUGE difference. Yes, your senses can deceive you, but your fingertips are pretty well calibrated.

My 2000 Jetta also reaped some benefits, and our 2009 Honda Fit is night-and-day different, even with rear drum brakes. The only vehicle I got no real perceivable bang/buck benefit was a floaty Acura CUV that was far from a sporting vehicle anyway. I put braided lines on that one mostly just to say I did. 🤷‍♂️

As for the talk of salt, mud, corrosion etc. - people's pessimism is coming from a place of ignorance. Even the fittings at the ENDS of the aftermarket brake lines are better than OEM. As I said a while back, most braided lines have a plastic coating on the outside anyway. They are smooth, non-binding, and chemically resistive to the things they will come into contact with. There are no voids or pockets or other interstitial layers where "things accumulate and corrode the lines." Maybe in the '70's, but not in the last 20 years, from my verifiable, real-world experience...

As to the benefit on a Maverick? Dunno. If there was a set available, I might consider it. I'd also look for slotted rotors and aftermarket pads if I was hell-bent on making a sport truck (but I'm not...) I mean there are already guys trying to put Brembos and big Volvo calipers on these trucks, and are we to crap on anyone's hobby?

TL;DR you do you. Post pics. Cheers. :)

Yeah, I'm also a gun guy so I'm used to fudds telling me that I should never change anything on a vehicle/firearm.

Well I like to tinker so away we go!

I'm encouraged to hear of the yellow stuff pads. I've been looking at them, but the last time I did performance brakes for autocross the yellows were too much for the street. Their new description is exactly what I want tho.

I hear you Carlitos. Definitely not alpha males. All my harleys have custom braided lines. . Maybe boosted will give us his opinions on which ebc pads. I run ebc and lyndall pads on my bikes.

Swapping out 10+ year old brake lines with SS lines (or new OEM rubber lines) will make a noticeable difference. Probably not so much when swapping newer lines.
FYI: The maverick is spec'd for Low Viscocity Brake Fluid (DOT4 LV). Just something to consider for ABS operation in cold weather.

They work great for me. And I just go tune from work, and when I get a chance to go wide open, I do and when I hit the brakes hard they work. And when I hit them during traffic, they're just fine. They just feel a lot more positive and don't fade under excessive braking like the OEM
