I agree with the blind spot mirror if your Mav didn't come with one built in. But I would recommend one of the cut-off versions rather than the full round one. It's smaller and there's no reason to look at the side of your own vehicle in half the view. Available online and from auto parts stores

Yea, that person doesn't know what they are talking about. Their statement would be somewhere between an outright lie and changed something else; driving habit included.

Edit:

A practical example of this would be the trucking/long haul industry. Do you think they would keep regular mud flaps if they impacted fuel economy in anyway? No, they would immediately re-design them to solve that issue. Why? Because, they work at a scale where even saving 0.5% in fuel economy adds up.

For that person to suggest that on this size of a vehicle adding (tiny) mud flaps impacts fuel economy, let alone in a noticeable way, is very laughable.

First thing I do to most new vehicle purchases......add a 3" stick-on frog eye mirror to each side mirror. When you get used to the expanded field of view these offer, you'll never do without.

Only XLT and Lariat without BLIS (lower level CP360 optional package) get the blind spot "spotter" mirrors. BLIS replaces it with the blind spot indicator lamp. XL just gets a plain pane flat glass mirror.

I ordered some off of Amazon but they were the adjustable type that don't sit flush on the mirror. I couldn't bring myself to install them and have to fight with removing them if I didn't like them.

These came from Ace hardware. Walmart & TSC also have them.


The OEM version is pretty worthless IMO.

I've got an XL eco with a build date. I finally feel close enough to buy some accessories for when it arrives. I have picked up a lot of good pointers along the way but wanted to know about smalls I may not be thinking of. Particularly items that kind of seem like they should have come with even the XL.

- Two side storage bins for the bed sides
- Organizer tray for the center console
- Phone holder for the cubby next to screen
- Mudd flaps
- Floor mats
- Center console for the rear seat passengers
- Tiny jumper / USB / inverter for rear passengers
- Dashcam with rearview. Mounting rear view top rear of cab for view of loads in bed and blindspots coverage.

Any other small conveniences I'm gonna think "why didn't that come standard" when it arrives?

Seat covers, a two inch thick padded armrest (they're on Amazon) maybe do a DIY hookup in the bed with the little 12v power sources built into each side?
