My Maverick Hybrid (new on 28 Oct 23) has been in the shop for 28 days so far. Won't tell me the exact problem. Did say they ordered the wrong replacement part. Reordered it. Today they said the part was on back-order. Then, later I got an email saying the part was "not currently available." Meanwhile, no loaner vehicle, and I'm still making monthly payments. Ford says "no policy to reimburse payments." California's Lemon Law kicks in if a vehicle is not repaired by 30 days. Has to be refunded or replaced. At this point I'm thinking of a refund. Love the 600+ miles/tank, but when the truck stops in traffic and you can barely nudge it to the side of the road, that is a problem! What was that old slogan I used to hear? "FORD -- Fix or Repair Daily." Really, really unhappy.

Recalls are frustrating and inconvenient. Lack of reliability and stranding becomes unbearable, especially when they can't or won't resolve the issue.
It will change your whole perspective of a vehicle and/or brand, depending on how the issue(s) are handled.

Take the refund money and buy from another dealer.

Pretty crappy they cannot work to get you a vehicle to use...Ford reimburses dealers for rentals on warranty repairs - may be hard to get a car, but 28 days is too long...

I am so sorry this has happened.

I had an issue with a Kia once; it was mf'd 4 days after an airbag recall for cars made within a certain window of time. It had the same problem the recalled cars had. Both the dealer and Kia said I was SOL. Repair was gonna be over $2k to fix. I reported it to the NHTSA and they did nothing except say they were "watching" the issue.

Not long after that, I was in a hit & run rear-end crash - no injury, thanks to good headrests. My insurance totaled the Kia and paid me under "uninsured motorist" part of my coverage. They actually paid me over $2k more than the car was worth, due to the airbag issue. I took the money and put it towards a Subaru. I will never buy another Kia product again because they wouldn't stand behind their products.

My advice: Take the lemon law buyback money and buy something from another brand.

You do not have to accept the replacement or buyout. I filed a lemon claim in CA, got $5k from Ford, and my truck fixed. My truck does not have a lemon title either.

Take the refund and grab an EcoBoost unless the hybrids is a deal breaker . I can tell you I'm getting between 28 and 32 MPG 80% highway 20% residential. I absolutely love this little truck

I get 48-50 mpg. Besides, EcoBoost not available on truck. I want the problem fixed --- permanently; not run off and take something second-best.

What part did they order? What was wrong with the vehicle?
Something about a faulty wiring harness associated with the transmission. The part is said to be "currently unavailable." I have no more information. Tomorrow --- finally --- they will be settting me up with a loaner. It is a Bronco. I'm still out over $650 vehicle payment for last month without transportation that I feel Ford should reimburse me. But when the vehicle is properly fixed, I'd take an adjustment in-kind. Specifically, I wanted to add a hitch receiver, with its wiring, a bed liner and a DC-AC inverter.

Yes, if you have a case open with Ford and it takes more time ask them to make the payments for the time your vehicle has been down...Until Ford starts taking quality seriously, they need to be held responsible (imho)
