I found this rack that doesn't require drilling or even clamping and just sits on the tailgate. It attaches to your existing tailgate anchor latches then locks in place. There's also a braided wire bike lock that's built in and can lock across up to 6 bikes.
They have one for the Ford Ranger and I'm almost certain they could have one for the Maverick since there's not much complicated parts to it.
I like this idea since I ordered the tonneau hard rolled up cover which I suspect might hinder Ford's idea of a make shift bike rack with the 2x4
