EDIT AT END OF POST
Nearing the end of the first tank of gas, my Lariat Hybrid had been doing about 29mpg in cold Ohio. Including a trip with 1000lb trailer for about 50mi.
Visited a friend, then parents, and then home. Got 36.5mpg, 34.5mpg and 38.9mpg in 0 to 24F weather. Ran in normal mode the whole time.
Also my first long day in the driver's seat. A bit more comfortable than I was expecting. Definitely not luxury but not bad. I'm big, tall, and wide, so I like the recessed console so I can spread my knees and sit center in the seat and not feel like I'm pushed to the left.
Got to play with the radio and was impressed with volume and clarity. Every other time I wanted to hear the engine and see how it runs. Managed for the entire Fwy free day to get almost 25% electric miles. Warming up at start for climate really zaps mpg.
Cold heaving roads are bumpy and you feel them. But it's not as bad as my first day with it in a snowstorm.
Getting better at feathering the throttling and getting electric miles. Sometimes without even realizing I'm doing it just through learning the feel of the engine and speed.
My daughter loves the backseat. Had the passenger seat pulled up halfway and she couldn't touch the seat from her booster seat with her shoes. Also the rear seat belt is ridiculously long. I was able to buckle her from the front seat when she failed to do it herself when wet got in once.
Not a fan of the shifter dial. Wish it was up in the dash as I actually lean sideways up turn it. Headroom is great. For my height, I still have about 3 inches of room with the seat back all the way and the back reclined a few notches beyond straight up and down.
I do wish the gas pedal was a little closer to the floor. Feels like just my toes are on it when I'm driving.
The interior is roomy, the mpg is great for a truck, the cabin warms up and feels more sound proof than I expected, and the truck has a lot of pep if you really want it to go. Especially in sport though that's not fuel friendly. I got the hybrid for economy and am ecstatic about it even if I'm only in the 30s so far.
One recommendation: keep the heat off completely until the engine naturally warms up and then turn it out. The engine will run to produce heat immediately if it's on from the start and zaps your mpg until it's warm.
EDIT
I'm going to use this thread of mine to document trips, mpg, and various things I notice about my hybrid Maverick.
