I am sure most of you are wondering what or why or how orders are scheduled.....

It's all in the computer and most likely a proprietary system that takes into consideration all of the variables that make up a vehicles lifecycle from ordering to delivery. Of course Ford is not going to share that logic but the program most likely uses the JIT inventory method. Think the stock market...it's a wild guess these days!

The real amazement is the production process. If you have never been to a plant to observe, and you have a chance, do so.

Seeing the sequencing of parts, options, body to chassis ect all come together is honestly mind boggling.

We did the F-150 Dearborn production plant tour this summer, and have done several others. It is cool to see how things have changed from when my Grandfather worked for Ford in the 80's when I was a kid and would go to the plant with him now and then.
