I'm very happy to report that I finally picked up my Maverick last evening. Love it. For those of you waiting, be patient -- its a slow process from ordering to delivery. I thought I would give a timeline to give some perspective.

On August 13, 2021, I went to a small town Ford dealer in Kerrville Texas, Ken Stopel Ford, and ordered a Cactus Grey XL, FWD, 4K tow package, Full Spare, and Co-Pilot 360. Great sales person, Gary Washington, agreed to MSRP with no add ons. Paid a $500 deposit and went home. The wait begins.

September 20, 2021, I learned that Ford had kicked my order out because the 4K tow package required all wheel drive. I ordered a FWD. I started pondering my options anew. Thanks to the Maverick Truck Club, I learned that Ford agreed to issue a $2200 private offer (rebate) to cover the cost of the AWD upgrade for those of us who ordered and were rejected. I'm pretty sure the folks on this board knew about the offer before my dealer did. I discussed with my salesperson and he confirmed the private offer and we resubmitted my order on September 23, 2022. The wait begins, again.

October -- nothing
November -- nothing

When I say nothing, I mean not a word from Ford. My salesperson was very attentive but could only say its been ordered and waiting to be built.

On December 20, 2021, after falling into a deep slumber about my truck, I was awakened by my salesperson calling to say that that my truck was scheduled to be built the week of February 21, 2022. I had a VIN! it was becoming real. I was excited again. I registered with Ford using my VIN and checked it almost daily.

On February 7th, my window sticker first appeared. The Ford tracker said "in production." A week ahead of schedule, the tracker reported my vehicle was built. Surprise! A couple of days later my modules had populated. A good sign. The tracker had an estimated delivery of Mach 11, 2022. All seemed on track.

A couple of weeks later, the estimated delivery date disappeared from the tracker. It was still saying "in production/built" and had not moved to shipped. I called Ford, they basically said its built pending shipping. On February 28, 2022, I called my salesperson and he sent me the screen shot -- "chip hold" and a delivery date of April 24, 2022 (it appears that salesperson has better visibility than Ford). I was deflated but resigned that this too would pass.

February turned to March. No updates. On March 16, 2022, I received word from my sales person that my truck had been loaded on a rail car. Very excited, again. On March 25, 2022, my truck was in Nogales Arizona -- in the USA! I used the rail tracker info I found on the Maverick Truck club.

On March 28, 2022, it was in the rail yard in San Antonio. My salesperson said they would mark it "hot" and get it ASAP. Now I'm really excited. On April 1, 2022 it arrived at the dealer. I could pick it up the following day. All was going great, except. . .

On March 25, 2022, Ford issued a safety recall related to the trailer break on trucks with the 4K tow package. A software update was required. My truck could not be delivered until the recall was fixed. I confirmed on this board that I was not the only one waiting. It was at the dealership so I went and visited it. I was really happy to actually see it, sit in it, and take a ride around the parking lot. But it stayed and I went home to wait. Some more.

Yesterday, April 6, 2022, my truck was finally ready. After reading all the horror stories about the dishonest dealerships (a few) out there on this board, I was still apprehensive that something could go wrong. I went through the final steps at the dealership. Happily, everything was exactly as the my sales person had promised. No additional fees. I got the $2200 rebate for the AWD. The truck was perfect. Very nice people. If you are looking for a dealership, I would recommend them highly. Ask for Gary Washington.

So, my truck, from start to finish, took 237 days. If you are still waiting, I must say that the truck is worth the wait. The world is crazy and supply chains are broken and, low and behold, the Maverick is a hit. I sincerely believe that everyone at Ford is trying as hard as they can to get the thousands of orders filled. I want to say thanks to everyone who contributes here -- it goes a long way to help pass the time and keep your sanity.
