Tim Bartz got the information from Ford Marketing meeting a week or so ago. It's in one of his weekly youtube videos (20 Dec one I think, if not the 17 Dec video). Is there something specific you know of that will change the hybrid allocation to above 40%? I understand Ford miscalculated their estimates on Hybrid Vs EB sales, however I suspect that is the reason they closed the Hybrid ordering in November, so that the Hybrids would be able to be built through the course of production for 2022, not that production of the Hybrids would be increased.
If they planned 40% hybrid for 2022, there is no way for them to change course at this point. While as consumers we think of products in terms of the final iteration (i.e. your delivered truck), the content of that truck is arranged and paid for well in advance, through year-over-year contracts with suppliers and vendors. The total Hybrid allocation was set when Ford made their production forecasts, likely before it was even announced in June.
Further, if the Maverick and Hybrid specifically are a way for Ford to meet overall emissions standards they very well may leave the hybrid allocations at 40% in future years . They make a lot more money selling an F-150 than a Maverick, so there is not necessarily an incentive for them to increase production of the Hybrid engine specifically, especially with a popular truck that sells itself with little marketing expense. I don't necessarily believe this is the case, but it is not out of the realm of possibility either.
