Is the Ford bed extender compatible with the stock tri-fold?

I ordered a loaded Lariat with the tri-fold cover. Is the bed extender Part No: VNZ6Z99286A40A compatible with the tri-fold? Dealer told me no but it seems there is enough clearance.

Not sure of the part number but mine came with the ford trim-fold and the bed extender. just need to flip up 1st (2) sections and it folds out
