Hi guys. Been a while since I’ve stopped by!
After a recent trip away where my ‘22 Mav XLT had been sitting in garage for the 2 weeks I was gone. I was on my way to work a day or so after returning and got the “AWD FAULT SERVICE IMMEDIATELY” warning. I thought it was a little odd since I hadn’t even been driving the truck, but what’s more odd that as I continue my drive to work (25-30mins) would eventually clear itself and then maybe pop back up. I stopped at the store not far from work and even managed to make it the rest of the way with no warning. Only to play the same game the next day coming home.

Has anyone else experienced this? Am I in for a big repair bill? Thanks in advance.

Hi, did you ever get your problem fixed? My truck is doing the exact same thing. I'm wondering what yours was?

I'm not the original poster, but I recommend stopping by a local auto parts store so they can pull the codes for you. That might help us narrow down the issue. How many miles and what year is your truck?

Tony, frustratingly enough it cleared itself and had not been an issue since. I didn’t do anything to fix the issue, it just fixed itself.

Hey guys my truck was doing this a little over a month ago and eventually it completely shut off. Ford dealership said my rdu speed sensor/ also called rear wheel speed sensor was no good and its not covered by the normal powertrain warranty. Dealership wanted $700 because they planned to drop the rear in order to change it out. Tried to change the sensor out myself because the sensor only cost me bout 60 dollars from ford. Spent 3 days messing with the old sensor before taking it to a local shop for $150 and had it fixed in two days. The sensor sits on top of the rear axel and gets covered by dirt and rust where i live. I attached a pic of the sensor before i started breaking the sensor housing before giving up. Might be doable for people who do not have rust issues its just a plug and play replacement sensor. Hope this helps and good luck. In the picture that plug that is centralized is the top of the sensor and will have to unplug as first step
